There are many species, groups/families, and categories of animals that one can work with. He should consider if he want to work with certain species, a wide range of different animals, and how wild or exotic the animal would be. The general groups of animals are domesticated, wildlife, and exotic. Domesticated animals are those found in an individual’s home; those animals like dogs, cats, parakeets, hamsters, etc. Wildlife is the animals found in city or country type places; these animals could be pigeons, squirrels, possums, raccoons, etc. And exotic animals are those found only in certain places due to special environmental characteristics and needs; these animals could be tigers, zebras, ant-eaters, panda bears, etc. Each species of animal is very different from each other; they have different anatomies, environments, and needs. This being said he will need to know how he wants to help animals. One must figure out how he wants to work with animals; whether indirectly or directly. Jobs working indirectly with animals could be getting sponsors and putting together fundraisers and getting donation for animals shelters to studying and researching an animals environment; while jobs working directly with animals could involve rescuing animals from abuse situations or even giving them love and affections by volunteering at an animal shelter. Something to keep in mind when looking for an animal career is to think of the interest one might have outside of animals and try to see if it can somehow be incorporated in the career of his choice. By connecting these areas of his life, he can try to ensure that he will always find the career he chose to be interesting and enjoyable. (Pavia
