I am a registered pharmacy technician and have practised in community pharmacy for almost 6 years in the UK. The services that the pharmacy was providing were like where I had previously worked and all the standard operating procedures were similar. However, during the placement, I could see the pharmacist’s point of view rather than a technician and how the role of the pharmacist is different from that of a pharmacy technician. I'm currently a students at fortis collage who has finally made it to extern after 8 months of working hard to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician . During the beginning of my first week of extern everything was going smoothly, I received compliments on how fast I moved while filling prescriptions, and how I get all of my prescriptions done, which doesn't happen often in a busy environment . Friday comes and I asked Mr. Joe if I could come one day during the weekend to put in extra time . On April, 19 2013 I was blessed with a baby boy. It was the happiest day of my life, but I was unaware of the hurdles that lie ahead. My world changed completely, I lost my nights rest and had to readjust my schedule to meet the needs of my baby. IPPE 1 Reflection My IPPE 1 experience went relatively well. Already having worked in a community pharmacy setting, I knew what to expect and felt that there really was little to gain. Going into the rotation, I was somewhat bitter that I would be losing 3 weeks of my time to work in a setting I already have been working in. By the end of the rotation however, I did end up gaining at least some valuable experience and insight that I did not receive in my previous work experience.…
