Why are you applying for this position? I think the new member education program is essential for the transitioning new sister in determining if Delta Zeta is the right fit for her. If the process goes the way it is supposed to, it will make the young women excited to wake up and call herself a sister in our chapter. For myself, it’s crucial to be a part of changes that influenced yourself in some way. For just going through the process myself, I think the program was great; however, I want to be a part of the team to make it even better.…

Troop 1019 is transitioning to Cadettes and we are making many changes in our troop dynamic. Some of the girls felt that the way we run our meetings should be different because we have been doing them the same way since we were in Kindergarten, and we wanted to try something new to keep it interesting and exciting so girls will want to stay in our troop. At one of our meetings, our troop leader made up a survey about what we would like to change or keep the same about how we run our meetings. At the end of this chapter you can find the survey we used, so you can have an example for your troop. We all took this survey, then she tallied the answers and we discussed the results and made some changes as a group.…

The formal structure in place for the American Red Cross is one I believe is very sound and put together. The President of the United States is always considered the honorary chairperson of the Board of Governors and he selects the chairman of the board and also appoints 8 of the 50 board members. The American Red Cross is made up of about 769 regional or city chapters which are led by the chairman of the board, Bonnie McElveen Hunter. Each chapter is chartered by the National Board of Governors, which the chairman leads. The chairman and the Board of Governors handle the oversight of the Red Cross.…

Due to the fact that I am currently done with my school year I sent a Google Form to the District Communications director of my district, Mallory Sribanditmongkol and asked for her assistance in answering some questions about her role and technology. Mallory is widely known around the district but her position is relatively new and, therefore, was of interest to me due to how little I really understood about what she does on a daily basis. Therefore, I started by asking what Mallory’s responsibilities are in her position as the district communications director. Mallory replied by listing a plethora of jobs including handling all media relations, the website, all social media outlets, and communicating “newsworthy events” to all members of…

The most important role of the academic chair is to help fellow members of the fraternity with their academic pursuits. I personally feel that I have success in this category as I still have a 4.0 GPA after three semesters here at Rutgers. As the Academic Chair I feel that I would be able to give my fellow brothers helpful techniques and strategies that I have used successfully to aid in their own academic advancements. I can be especially useful in classes I have already taken making it so that I would be more help for newer members that may not have yet figured out how to balance academic demands and fraternity life. Also, I plan to utilize the newly formed “PhiDE Study Buddies” GroupMe to organize study sessions and if I had access to every…
