Case Study: Inova Medical Group

The team that I selected is the Inova Medical Group in Ashburn, Virginia. They are a family medicine practice serving patients of all ages, from infants to adults. The Ashburn HealthPlex offers OB-GYN, emergency care, physical therapy, diagnostic imaging (X-Ray, MRI and more) and laboratory services. The practice works closely in coordination with Inova's extensive network of hospitals and outpatient facilities. Their mission is to improve the health of the diverse community they serve through excellence in patient care, education and research.
One specific team member who specializes in family medicine is Dr. Melissa Wisner. I would categorize her as a team leader because she is professional and knows how to listen to the concerns of her patients, as well as the people she works with. Dr. Wisner and her staff members make it clear that they care for people through their actions, which makes them successful as an overall team. If one person does not feel that their ideas matter, then that could result in the downfall of the team because that person will not want to work as hard. Furthermore, it will be my responsibility, as well as my teammates, to make sure that all necessary work gets done in a timely manner so that the project can be submitted on the due date. I will make sure that all of the team members work well together and strive to achieve the best outcomes. I want to create a reputation for not just working hard, but also being known as a fair leader.
