To answer this question, my organization promotes social and economic equity by preserving and enhancing economically and culturally diverse communities through affordable homeownership opportunities, business development, homebuyer services, and community advocacy. For more than a decade, HomeSight has worked with families and people of color, assisting to create over 1,900 homeowners. Generally speaking, they fulfill their mission of “building strong, vibrant communities through homeownership, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization.” Furthermore, they also have services to assist potential homeowners – whatever the condition.

The HomeSight Community Development serves communities of color and SE Seattle residents who reside in areas which have low access to opportunity. Besides, the organization works to create opportunities by listening to the community’s needs and providing necessary technical assistance and resources as well as advocates for support for these needs.
For over 25 years, HomeSight has worked in partnership with residents, business owners, community-based organization, funders, and government, to help orchestrate equitable development and engage diverse community members and community-based organizations throughout the Rainier Valley, the Othello Community, and King County to directly influence economic growth impacting these neighborhoods. A comprehensive analysis of the 990 form indicates that HomeSight relies generally on grants and contributions from government, corporations, fundraising event, and program service revenue. Support from government grants is the largest source of funding that makes up the essential part of their diverse revenue with a total of $3, 997, 232 for 2015 and $8, 152, 257 for 2016 (doubling an increase in revenue). The incessant and the persistence inflow of this contribution are essential to support communities and to collectively pursue favorable policies for equitable opportunity and accomplishment. A large portion of its revenue comes from gifts, grant, and fundraising events. Other sources of revenue such as institutional grants and individual contributions come from the public. Grants from institutions and non-profits organizations have made it possible for HomeSight to maintain its current programming and launch new programs and initiatives. Furthermore, the grants have also allowed them to expand their program to major events such as education, counseling, and project management services. The HomeSight shares a common mission and values of consistent strategic goals. Together, HomeSight is increasingly engaging philanthropic partners to meet major societal needs. Thus, the organization, collaborating with other organizations, is keen on building a unified community that will bring
