I agree with you in regards to what you wrote that “If the instrument do not adequately measure the concepts or lack the validity and reliability, the study may be invalid.” I was reading a few examples and I came across one that explains reliability and validity goes hand in hand. The example that stood out for me was a customer named Joe who goes to the ice cream shop every day after work at 5pm. By 5:05pm, he gets his milkshake and he swears by it that it’s the best milkshake he ever tasted. So, for almost a week, he goes to the ice cream shop after work and orders the same thing with the same soda clerk. One day, he decided to bring his friend and ordered milkshakes.
