Following today's campus wide meeting, SGA feels that there are multiple misconceptions as to what we are protesting and what our goals are. In the effort of promoting clear communication and transparency, we feel it is important we share our concerns with you all as a part of this family we call Heritage University.
SGA is not protesting major credit requirements or the changes being made. We are not protesting the work faculty are doing to change requirements.
What our protest is about:

As we were asked not to speak at the meeting today we did not address these concerns but we feel that it was disingenuous of Administration to not voice this as they are aware we are not protesting major credit requirements nor ever have in this protest.
If we really care about addressing these concerns lets actually address them not host campus wide meetings in which the people actually protesting are not allowed to speak while we address concerns not related to the actual protest. An administration that promotes better communication but then tells student leaders not to speak while allowing the message of the protest to be misconstrued is hypocritical at best.
Our slogan of Students Last is, we feel, a reflection of Administration and their actions in addressing student concerns.
-No one addressed the funding or sustainability of the ASC/Writing Center until SGA got involved.
-No student has ever been in the discussions concerning capital spending until SGA got involved.
-Students weren't even aware that Major Credit Requirements were disproportional in comparison with other programs in Washington State until SGA got
