EXPAND

Do you think we should expand our school , if yes, then listen up, if no then shut up and listen! If

you could change anything at Floyd County High School (FCHS) what would it be? We would EXPAND, by that we

mean increase the size of the band room(and band), expand the library, and make more clubs. We will

explain these changes in the next few paragraphs.

First off we need to expand the band. We aren't just talking about increasing the size of the band

room. We are also talking about funding this year we barely had enough uniforms and the band is the

fastest growing program at the school. The band room also needs to be significantly bigger for the same

reasons. Band is important for many students to many students

Playing the trombone is one of my greatest skills that I developed over time in my life. I may seem effortless when I play the trombone, but it took me several challenges to get to where I am. When I was in sixth grade, a middle school band inspired me to join band in middle school. With my family being a “fresh off the boat” immigrant, however, I was insecure about myself since I was not much fluent in English. Worse than expected, my first band experience disappointed me.…

After examining the issues surrounding the US education system, I have come to the conclusion that it has many flaws in it and there are many ways that they should be fixed. To make schools better by promoting creativity and preparing our children for the future we must do many things by making it adaptive to the children. Some of those things are: integrate technology into schools and make teachers more of coaches and inspirations, make learning fun for the children, Integrate arts into schools which really helps kids learn and also promotes a great amount of creativity and teach kids only the information that they will need and will be using in real life problems. Most importantly we need to make special schools for different types of people based on their knowledge which will make them want to learn more and put groups of kids in classes and make them stay with the same class and teachers until they get to highschool. This makes the kids adapt, form relations with each other and learn to like other people.…

Being involved with the music department isn’t just for music majors or minors. There are many opportunities for the campus community to take part in the benefits of music through lessons, ensembles and performances. For those that enjoy music but do not sing or play an instrument themselves, Luke Carlson, assistant professor of music, said there are a variety of concerts and performances every semester they can attend. “Some of the audience members we get are family members,” Carlson said, “but we also have students, faculty members, and outside visiting people. You never know who's going to come to a concert, so it's just the sort of wonderful experience where we are all sharing music.”…

Public School Flaws “83% of Californians consider the quality of education to be at least somewhat of a problem for California schools” (Tatum).Education has always been an important aspect in society and is always trying to be improved, but in reality the quality of education in California is failing our students. Most of the problems are not based on the schools themselves, but on the amount of limited funding that schools are supplied. Trying to become an elementary teacher, I have realized that there are many problems within the school systems and in my opinion it should be changed. The question is how do we change the system to improve it instead of making it worst? Right now there is a huge focus on higher education, but the lack of quality in elementary schools is leading students to either drop out of high school, or just finish their education with a high school diploma.…

I would change the community by adding a middle school. The hallways are always too crowded. 8th graders get pushed around in the halls, and the lobby is crowded in the morning. It would be much better with more room for students to come and go. There’s also enough room in the county, there's at least enough for a middle school.…

Introduction It is obvious to those who are involved in the music program that this particular branch of learning is taking a hit. School budgets are being cut and the arts programs are the first to go. Schools are focused on core classes because mandated state tests put pressure on the school to focus on math, reading and science. By cutting what is seen as an “extracurricular” schools are ignoring the benefits that an advanced music program provides to their students.…

There are many participants in the problem of Saginaw Public School District’s deficit issue and in particularly determining which high school should be closed. The first participant includes the students who are the most effected by the decisions that are made by the school district. The students have been very vocal with their opinions on whether they would like their school open or closed. Some students have feelings that they absolutely do not want their school closed and others they feel like it’s unfair for them to have to go across town to a high school that is not in their neighborhood. There are other students who want to combine into one school because they believe in having the opportunity to take advance classes and participate in a variety of extracurricular is a great opportunity for the students of Saginaw Public School District.…
