I have been working in education for over 25 years but in March 2015, I registered my new business, ‘Listening to Your Voice Ltd’, because I made the conscious decision that in September when the new school year began, I would not be returning to a school and teaching. It was a brave decision for me to make as teaching was the only real career that I had known. As part of my first degree, I had worked at Guy’s Hospital as a research assistant, but after a year, I knew that I did not want to pursue a career in research.
