Company
Fitbit Inc. is an American company that makes wireless wearable technology that tracks people’s activity. The devices measure number of steps, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics. The company currently has seven different wearable watches. Fitbit also sells a scale which tracks your weight, BMI and body fat percentage. Below is a picture of all of Fitbits current products. Fitbit has a lot of competition within its space. Fitbits current biggest competitor is Garmin. Other top competitors for Fitbit include: Moov Now, Jawbone, Samsung, Nike, and Google. Fitbit needs to differentiate itself from these companies to increase profitability.

The conferences are used to create a competition between the schools.
To join the competition, students must own a Fitbit Tracker. Students will be able to access the competition by registering their student email address with Fitbit. When registered with Fitbit, students will be able to use the mobile application. The mobile application will also track the steps for each school and have features that are just available to college students. The application will track the people that have the most steps each day from each individual campus. This will encourage participants to walk more and monitor each step with a Fitbit tracker. Participants in the competition will log in through a special portal designed specifically for their school. The TVs will be installed in the student unions, rec centers, athletic facilities, and other locations that have a lot of traffic. The TVs will be a key part of the promotion. They will provide visibility of Fitbit throughout the campus and give a reason for students to make a purchase. The TVs will contain information about step count, school’s rank, person who walked the most steps at the school, how to get involved, and more. In the locations with the boards, there will be promotional materials that show where trackers could be purchased. To provide the students with an incentive to buy, Fitbit will provide a 10% discount to college students when they purchase the trackers online with their college
