Another aspect of the Googles management that will be discussed are the employees in managment. Google finds, retains, and develops management talent differently from traditional companies. From the interview stage to the assessment process, the company highlights and emphasizes adaptability. According to Google’s website, Google searches for four different criteria when assessing a potential employee, leadership, role- related knowledge, how you think, and googleyness. (CITATION HERE).
In an New York Times interview by Adam Bryant with Lazlo Bock, the senior vice president of people operations of the company, finding new talent/ hiring new employees is based off several different criteria/ personal qualities, which he mentions are cognitive ability, emergent leadership, humility, ownership, and more. (CITATION HERE).The first thing he emphasizes to be most important is “general cognitive ability, and its not the I.Q. its learning ability, its the ability to process on the fly. Its the ability to pull together disparate bits of information.
