In this case, both states and districts are deemed to have a formula that guide them in funding these costs. In addition, the formulas also help in distributing funds among the districts depending on factors such as enrollment of student levels, characteristics of students and local wealth. The policy states, “educational personnel are forbidden from accepting gifts or money that could possibly influence a student’s decision on any matter” (Shelby County Board of Education, 2010, pg. 3). Brad’s involvement with Tom could have a direct impact on how he performs in class, both behaviorally and academically. When a crime is committed, the perception of the individual tends to become negative causing the loss of empathy and understanding from his or her peers. Most people fail to think extensively about ways in which educational background contributes to a crime committed. People assume that individuals engage in criminal activity because of their specific race and background or because they lack the presence of something that is related to their crime. (I.e. one can say that a person who rapes a woman lacks sex, or someone who steals something lacks the money to pay for it and so on.)…
