So officers started to check what he threw outside of 7-11 store, and across the street in dumpster. They found bunch of clothing covered in blood duplicate cheque for 2,500 written under victims name, and the credit card was found in the garbage outside of 7-11. Police started checking after having enough evidence police started to check if Pappas had a gun registration, later they found out that he was the owner of 9 mm handgun. After adding all the evidence police started looking for an arrest warrant. On November 15 2006 around 9:30am Pappas was arrested at the Calgary Airport about to board on Continental Airlines Flight to London England (Alberta Courts 2010). Pappas was told on what grounds he has been arrested, and detained him to a holding center, and giving an opportunity to phone a lawyer. The lawyer was not available immediately so Pappas had an opportunity to eat, drink and go to the bathroom while he was waiting for his lawyer.
