Chiquita Brands International Inc. is a multinational producer, distributer and marketer of bananas mainly and other fresh fruit products.
The banana division only consists of 19,000 employees mainly working in more than 100 banana farms in countries throughout Latin America like Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador , Costa Rica , Panama and Colombia . It has always cared about their employees who were living in houses (owned by Chiquita) in the banana farms. The company used to provide potable water, electricity, medical facilities and other basic services.

In Greece, Chiquita is located in Athens and has a few employees. The prime strategic plan is the preservation and dissemination of bananas, pineapple and kiwi in our country because in Greece, we don’t produce these kinds of fruits. Through professional and communication ways they have include this types of fruits in Greek market. The basic pillow of Chiquita Company, so worldwide so especially in Greece, is the substantial corporative responsibility, which attended to people and to environmental protection. Firstly, Chiquita in Greece has main strategically aim to maintain stable to the long-term staff. As for the executive managers who are the “heart” of enterprise, it’s about powerful persons which are specially educated and work only for Chiquita in Greece for many years. Imposing the respect and the keeping of comprehensive political business of central Administration of Chiquita in Switzerland. This implies to the individual but also to the collectively job in the workplace.
