Case Study: Bernardo V.

Decent Essays
Tom,

I have been talking with Mr. Bernardo (GPC’s lawyer) on a daily basis. Excluding the variables and with the joint effort of all, we understand that the lawsuit will have the following chronology:

(A) Yesterday the GPC's lawyer talked with the Administrator of the Judicial Recovery. The Administrator would have said that the petition will be filed today to the case records. He also reported that will be favorable to the intended sale.

(B) June 27th to July 6th - Period in which the process should be in the Prosecutor's Office.
The GPC's lawyer believes that the Prosecutor will make his manifestation within a maximum of ten (10) days.

Obs.: More than one Prosecutor is working in the case, so the manifestation can be done by Dr. Anco

Our clients related that Grey Hoffman had significant heart issues before moving into the house that required two prior surgeries. Apparently, Ms. Nathan-Nenn has a challenging relationship with her ex-husband, who is also Grey’s father, and had expressed to the insureds several times that she was concerned that she would lose her two weekends a month visitation with Grey if it appeared that she was not providing him with proper care. The insureds felt that as a result, Ms. Nathan-Nenn may be looking to place blame on them for Grey’s alleged continued difficulties. Finally, it is important to note that the parties renewed the lease on June 4, 2014, subsequent to the plaintiffs’ initial complaints relating to the premises and surrendered possession of the premise on October 3, 2014.…

A federal judge on Wednesday refused to dismiss one of the defense lawyers in the case of four officers charged with violating Rodney G. King's civil rights, a move that clears the way for jury selection to begin in less than three weeks. "This case will go forward in early February," U.S. District Judge John G. Davies said during a status conference on the case. That announcement came after Davies ruled that attorney Michael P. Stone, who represents Officer Laurence M. Powell, does not have a conflict of interest that would prevent him from continuing with the case. Ira Salzman, the lawyer for Sgt. Stacey C. Koon, had argued that Stone should not be allowed to remain on the case, largely because Stone's law partner represents Koon in a…
