Introduction When an organization is seeking out international opportunities in the world today, research plays an important scenario to the situation at hand. Examining foreign markets, such as determining if a host country is politically and economically stable among others, are essential in implementing a global strategy. Being able to attract potential clients in addition to servicing current customers in an ideal environment is key to global market growth. The following paper will discuss expanding operations in an existing market that has already proved to be lucrative, which is Macau. The company began operation in 1987 As MGM Grand Inc., and in June 2010, the company changed to its current name, to reflect its corporate strategy of expanding globally, which includes authorizing its brand and experience to develop gaming and non-gaming resorts and residences (Stutz, 2010). It has properties based stateside and globally with the concentration of properties located in the Las Vegas area. MGM posted net revenue of $2.38B for the 2015 fiscal year 2nd Quarter results while it’s subsidiary, MGM China Ltd., posted earnings of $556M for the same period (mgmresorts.com, 2015).
