Humanistic psychologists are different from psychodynamic theorists because they indicate that our lives are not completely determined by genetics, past experiences, or our present circumstance. Schools have to implement a fair discipline plan as well as set consistent expectations for all students to adhere to.

The article explains that according to Maslow, one acts upon the need for growth if the deficiency needs are met. The article explains how Maslow believed that the only reason people would not go on through to self actualization is because of the hindrances that block them that have been put in their way by society.

How the article applies to education: Once the lower needs are met, educators should push students by encouraging continuing doing their best. Students should have some freedom to discover by allowing them to do hands on projects and taking educational field trips. Students should be allowed to participate in activities that they can connect to live experiences.
