A. Overview: Apple Inc.
Apple Inc., formerly known as Apple Computer Inc., was founded on 1st April, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Ronald Wayne. Apple Inc. is a multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California, United State of America. It innovates, develops and sells consumer electronics, computer software, online services and PC. Its most popular product is the Mac Book series, iPod media player, iPhone (smartphone) and iPad (tablet PCs).

However, when comparing with some greater competitors such as Texas Instruments, Inc. (TXN), which is also one of the supplier of Apple Inc., the market share based on market capitalization is not strong enough to bargain against Apple since Apple can easily find another supplier to substitute the supplies from ADI.
According to the Porter’s five forces, the power of supplier is determined by the number of suppliers and the uniqueness of supplier’s product. In this case, there are many other competitors and substitutes in the market. Therefore, ADI is not a powerful supplier.
Another supplier of Apple to be discussed here is Foxconn, whose full name is Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. It a multinational electronics contract manufacturing company headquartered in Taiwan. Foxconn is one of the world's largest electronics contractor manufacturer, and the third-largest information technology company by revenue.
Foxconn provides Apple with 7 out of 18 final assembly facilities including all the popular products of Apple namely iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac. The company is familiar to the general public due to the scandal in 2010: over 10 workers in Foxconn committed suicide because of the tremendous workload and poor working
