Judaism, Santeria, and Scientology are three religions that originated in different parts of the world, at different times, and with a variety of similarities and differences. These religions all vary in their origins and beliefs. Judaism is one of the oldest religions, founded over 3,500 years ago in the Middle East. Santeria originated in Cuba out of slave trade, and Scientology is the most modern religion, founded in 1954 by a man named Ronald Hubbard in the United States. These three religions are incorporated into the everyday lives of people and each have an influence over each other.
Judaism is the original of the three Abrahamic faiths, which also include Christianity and Islam. Santeria originated in the Caribbean islands and has its roots from the Yoruba people of West Africa. The slave trade is what brought it to the southern USA, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and other Caribbean nations. When African slaves were brought to Cuba, they were not allowed to practice their religion and were forced to convert to Catholicism. However, these slaves would still practice it in secret and would synchronize their deities with the Christian deities. This is why many say that Cubans try to combine the Catholic religion and Santeria to make it as one. People who practice Santeria know the difference between the Catholic religion and Santeria religion, they just tend to practice both and find similarities between the two, especially with the deities, like it was practiced a long time ago. Judaism is different from my religion because we do not have more than the Ten Commandments, we do not believe in the covenant of God, and also attend to a different type of church in which the ritual is called a “mass” and is celebrated every Sunday of every week. Our preacher or teacher dresses in a white gown and carries the symbol of our daily bread. We also have a different sacred book; it is called the Catholic Bible. Yet Judaism and Catholicism can be seen as siblings or religion. They both share the same beliefs on how people should act toward each other and respect other subjects as well as other living and physical…

Although it really never achieved dominant numbers, the faith of the Hebrews just one of many ancient Middle Eastern tribes continues to exert a profound influence in the modern western world. Judaism is an ancient monotheistic religion, with the Torah as its foundational text and supplemental oral tradition represented by later texts such as the Midrash and the Talmud. Discuss the History of Judaism in terms of Exile and Return Judaism is a religion that has developed from its mythical origin of Abraham and his covenant with God to the religion we see today. This development came through the Jewish interpretation and reflection of its religion in history and this history is dominated by the concept of Exile and Return. In exchange for his belief in and worship of a single God, Abraham was told his descendants were a chosen people who would have the promised land of Canaan. As the Hebrews struggled to understand their relationship with God they were separated from their promised land. During the exodus, they spent 40 years learning to follow the Laws and show their belief in God with the belief that…

I believe that the three religions should be grouped together as each seems to branch off from the previous religion. Judaism is the oldest of the three and provides a good foundation for the other two. Christianity came second as a branch of Judaism. There are talks of Jesus and Abraham in the Islam religion showing that it is also a branch off of Judaism, however it isn’t tied into Christianity as much. Each of the three religions are monotheistic, they each worship a single god, the same god so it seems.…

Santeria is a religion originating out of Cuba from the sixteenth century, and incorporates elements of African religion, Roman Catholicism and French Spiritism. It is an important religious influence in Cuba whose beliefs and practices have integrated into many cultures including, but not limited to, the United States.
