Case Study: A Career As A Dental Assistant

1. What would you/your skills bring to the team? Team work makes the dream work, working together and communicating will make the flow of the day and patient care quality better. I take directions very well and make sure not to be told the same thing over and over. Positivity and education on long term care and procedures when it comes to patient care.

2. Why did you enter the dental field?
To help those that are in need of dental care that have a fear of dentists and leave them smiling and loving their dentist. Smile is the first thing that everyone notices yet many delay their dental care because of embarrassment or fear, such issues can be easy fixed.

3. When you have a nervous patient, what do you do to calm them?
Every patient is nervous, regardless of their procedure so talking to them or asking questions and getting to know them will take the mind off the procedure. Offer a blanket to make them more comfortable while in the chair, music if office offers such items or N2O that will also relax them. Explaining every step of the procedure is also very important so they feel like they don’t know what is going on and feel out of control.

What is your long-term career goal?
To gain as much knowledge in a clinical part of health care and a dental assistant so I can pass on my knowledge to be the best Healthcare Manager because it is all connected and patient satisfaction and safety is number
