Since the 6 week process and the 7 week process have the same exact oncalls, with a minor difference in spacing, that means the time spent for week 6 oncalls (77hrs) will be approximately the same for a 7 week process. The major difference will be what composes the majority of the week, the weekdays. Adding another week, adds another 5 days of meals, library hours, and other unnecessary events that overall isn’t beneficial. Once again, if you refer to the “Process Time Evaluation”, the difference between a 6 week process and a 7 week process is an extra 62hrs of the new members time wasted on meals, interviews, library hours, and unity days. My goal is to shape the process in a way that promotes class bonding while maintaining their GPA, or even seeing an increase in their GPA. It is my job as Vice President of Recruitment to oversee rush week and the process, however I am truly offended that I must go to such lengths to enforce a decision I’ve made after carefully exploring all of the options. It is also truly offensive when the NMEs go behind my back and share the oncall schedules to Kat, who has no actual knowledge of the process behind the scene, for “risk management” to provide a case against my decision. So at this point and time, my decision is final and the process will be 6 weeks with no compromises. If you, as the President of this fraternity, can bring a valid argument against my decision to the table then I will be more than willing to reconsider a 7 week process, but in the meantime my decision is
