According to the behavioral approach, how would you describe Susan’s leadership? I believe Susan is an Authority – Compliance (9,1) leader. She doesn’t seem to care to get to know her staff as long as everyone is working and the task is being completed she is happy with their work. I believe because Susan wears so many hats at the store she doesn’t have time to get to know her staff and may need to hire someone she can trust to help relieve some of her duties.

2. Why does her leadership behavior create such a pronounced reaction from her subordinates? I believe pronounced reaction is because they respect Susan’s work ethic and who she is as a person, however, the lack of communication makes them feel their work is not appreciated.

3. Do you think she should change her behavior? For Susan’s own health I feel she should consider slowing down some and enjoying the experience. I believe because she works so hard she may not know how must she is admired by the young people who work for her and missing opportunities to built team unity She might actually find capable employees to help relieve her workload by taking on some of the many tasks she does

Does Besty need to change her leadership style to improve the situation with Bridget and Suzanne? Does Marianne need to change her style of leadership? I was in a similar situation as this when I started my role here at WKU and my advice would be to have a conversation with all parties involved. This will eliminate he said she said. On the other hand, Suzanne seems to be a Paternalism/Maternalism leader and is focusing more on the relationships than the task. I would recommend that she continues to help support and develop the young ladies however she needs to shift her thought process to the task at hand and what will be best for the
