Case Dumitru Popescu Duped Michael Persico

Dumitru Popescu the Romanian Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Las Cruces based aerospace company Arca was detained in Georgia and then sent to Doña Ana County. Popescu was finally thrown into the Doña Ana County Detention Center with his bond set at $40,000. Mr. Popescu has been charged with over a dozen counts of fraud including embezzlement and misleading filings. The charges he currently faces are the outcome of an investigation by the New Mexico Securities Division.
First, the formal investigation began after a criminal complaint was filed with the 3rd Judicial District Court. It is alleged that Popescu duped Michael Persico, the CEO and founder of the Chicago-based telecommunications company Anova Technologies. Dumitru swindled $20,000
