1.Introduction
Dolphins may extinct in about 17 years if their rampant killings are not controlled. This is actually sooner than expected. According to the records and statistics gathered by “Enviro-Strong”, at wildlife protection agency, Dolphin Killings rises by approximately 17% every year (The dolphin Issue ETP). This means there are no signs of an immediate end to the brutal killings of Dolphins. Governmental organizations must pay more attention to this problem and world organizations such as UNICEF must create and enforce laws to prevent the killing of Dolphins as soon as possible. In some parts of the world, it is considered as a cultural asset and used for meals during cultural and festive times. Denmark recorded the highest use of Dolphins for festive purposes as of December 2014 followed by Japan. Some people also consider it as ‘game’ and use it for fishing sports, which eventually leads to mass loss of dolphins. Dolphin killing is expected to cause a total extinction of not just Dolphins but other aquatic species as well, in about 37 years from now. This is because these animals do not produce in a large scale but are slaughtered in large quantity. This results from increased use of technology and lack of awareness. Again, a continuous fall in the population of not just dolphins but the sea life in a whole is not far from materializing if this problem stays unchecked. Slaughter of Dolphins might lead to a complete change in the ecosystem since the role played by dolphins in the ecosystem will no longer be accomplished due to a fall in population and extinction.
