After listening to Richard Fuhr Jr.'s presentation, I have been reluctant in simply proof texting 2 Samuel 12:22-23. One reason, as Fuhr provided, is that this passage appears to be describing how David cannot do anything because his son is now dead (Liberty University). Instead of David saying how he is going to join his son in heaven, David is simply stating that since his son is dead, it is more likely for him to join his son in death. He was not arguing that his son was going to heaven. This was a reasonable interpretation that Fuhr provided. It would have helped in your post to include
