A manager not only needs to understand how to use the information but it also needs to know how the system properly works. If the manager doesn’t understand how the system works how is suppose to request for more information if needed. The information the manager needs might already be in the system. Senior managers might ask managers to provide certain information that managers should know how to get from the system. Every manager should be trained when a new system is installed so they can be able to answer questions and make decisions when the time arises.
We all could agree with Russell Ackoff based on his experience as an organizational theorist and Anheuser Professor of Management Science at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. MIS has made it easier for managers to get reports that help to provide the right answers.
