It is recognized that this abuse will cling onto the victim and continue to haunt her for the rest of her life, courtesy of a diseased human being. In this case, the dim lights, dark wallpaper and lack of sunshine truly signifies how deep and dark child abuse is. The atmospheric colors used takes away the ability to have any kind of happy feeling and leaves one feeling tremendously heartbroken instead. Likewise, the very few frames that are hung on the walls and positioned neatly on the table are dark and eerie. There are no vibrant pictures of the child anywhere symbolizing that she has been outcasted from any loving relationship. The adult male hands that blend significantly in with her skin signifies that this abuse has become one with her and will always be attached to her soul whether a victim or survivor. The abuse this child has endured has become her reality. From her tiny hands to her little toes, she couldn't even begin to fully comprehend what she has just endured. There are no hands of different color grasping her which depicts yet another intense image within the viewer's mind triggering awareness. The choice to use the same colored skin color symbolizes the predator as someone the victim knows instead of a stranger. While realizing what all of the colors in this ad signify, it is repulsive to come to the understanding of what utter horror this little girl is faced

The German Association for Eating Disorders aimed this ad towards anyone who has anorexia. The advertisement’s purpose intends to encourage the sick people to call or go to their website for help overcoming their eating disorder. The ad has a serious and encouraging tone, combined with how the umbrella looks like the wind is pulling it up, forcing the person to come out of hiding and get help. This ad is compelling because it does a good job of appealing to the emotions people with eating disorders often experience; the dark colors and isolation. The ad makes it seem easy to get help, and is encouraging people that they should not be ashamed to talk about their disorder; they only need to step out from behind their hiding place and talk to…
