There is many pros to C.R.I.S.P.R.-Cas9. It is capable of curing some diseases in monkeys and mice at the moment. In the future, it may be used on the human species. Cas9 detects the viral DNA and destroys it. Cas9 is also used to remove DNA of an integrated HIV virus from an infected human cell. C.R.I.S.P.R. allows bacteria to be taken out of the viruses and become healthy again. This also allows all cells in an organism to recognize the viruses they have been exposed to. The cells are able to make very precise changes to the DNA. C.R.I.S.P.R.-Cas9 may be capable of correcting mutations in DNA to make people healthy.
There is also cons about C.R.I.S.P.R.-Cas9. Whenever they put a piece of donor DNA to fix the …show more content…
We should give it a try on humans and spread it around the world. On the other hand, it is a bad idea because there will be too many people going to get different traits they wish to have. I personally think that some people will be for it, but once they get the genetic change, they will regret it because they liked their old self. It is a good thing that scientists found a way to cure genetic diseases and get rid of diseases that cannot be cured, but it will eventually make everyone not themselves. Sometimes that is what makes people unique. It is also a good idea because it can allow cells to recognize and prevent viruses that have been exposed to them and not allow them to get into the
