I think Iqbal was killed out of fear by the people who were all for child labor. Iqbal was feared by the masters and the Carpet Mafia because Iqbal was taking the children away from the people, causing them to lose lots of money. Another reason I think Iqbal was killed is because when Iqbal made speeches and stood up to child labor, the Masters and Carpet Mafias knew that if the police found out, then all the children would be taken away, and the master could go to jail for committing the crime of child labor.
The Carpet Mafia feared that Iqbal or the police would take all the children and end child labor for people. The Carpet Mafia was scared because if Iqbal put a stand to child labor, the Carpet Mafia would lose money, a lot of money,
