Carousel brainstorming helped in developing learning through discussion, negotiation and writing. It enabled me to access students' background knowledge or review what they have learnt by thinking about subtopics within a broader topic. Structured inquiry in pairs helped learners in building deep understanding by doing so they explored that if the area is the same, square will have smaller perimeter than rectangle and circle will have the smallest perimeter in all three. Then I provided brain break to my students as engagement does not mean overwhelming the learner, with brain breaks, learning is chunked and students do not become overwhelmed (Dieker, 2013, p.101).
