Carolyn C. Porco is a planetary scientist. She was born on March 6, 1953 in the Bronx, New York City, NY. She is 65. She is known for her work in the exploration of the outer solar system, beginning with her work on the Voyager missions to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in the 1980s. She discovered Aegaeon, Polydeuces, Daphnis, which are moons of Saturn. She has also had University positions; she is a “NASA” advisor. Projects she has helped with are: The Day the Earth Smiled and New Horizons. The awards that she has received are: Isaac Asimov Science Award by the American Humanist Association, and Huntington Library's Science Writer Fellowship for 2010.
