Caroline's Role In Everyday Life

Improved Essays
Caroline is one of the few prostitutes whom reside in the town brothel. Caroline is a Caucasian American from the west. She has long blonde hair, slim (almost starved looking) build and a tired battered appearance. Her pale skin looks slightly bruised from the handling she receives within the brothel. Her facial features are unmoving and miserable looking.

Her personality is jaded as of current. Her usual fiery and somewhat flirty personality has dissipated over the years. Her actions are almost robotic like she’s just going through the motions of everyday life, rather than being present in the moment. Her pessimistic attitude is off putting, and annoying to most. Before moving to Redstone, she was optimistic of the future and was easily excitable. Currently, her only saving grace is that she has a son to care for.

However, the money left from her parent’s funds were only able to get her as far as Redstone. Caroline met Suzie and she offered her a trade of three months of employment at the brothel, to cover the rest of her travel costs. However, those three months turned quickly into six when her suitor informed her that he had fallen ill. Shortly after, Caroline discovered that she had fallen pregnant to one of her regulars in the brothel. Her stay in Redstone quickly eventuated into 4 years with any hope of leaving,

The character I am choosing to use for this assignment is Carrie, from the movie Carrie (2002). I chose Carrie due to the fact that she displays herself throughout the movie as someone who is full of anxiety as well as depression. Based on what I learned from trait theory in class, a personality trait is usually consistent over time. Through the character Carrie, I believe she falls directly into the Big Five Personality Traits and Carrie’s would be neuroticism. Trait theory explains Carrie’s behavior of being neurotic due to the fact that she is a high school student with a very low self-esteem, doesn’t seem to be able to have a lot of friends or even interact with her peers on a daily basis.…
