Carol S. Dweck's Even Geniuses Work Hard

In the article “Even Geniuses Work Hard”, Carol S. Dweck explains that teachers can increase “growth mindsets” in their classrooms by applying a new learning method which will lead to a higher confidence level for students. While veering away from the typical “fixed mindset.” Dweck consistently says that teachers must create an atmosphere of risk-taking, where the process, not the outcome, is the single most important part. This challenges children to learn or master a concept that would normally be grey. Dweck says “When they have to work hard they feel dumb.” Which I can understand. When I was younger everything seemed to come to me so fast. Now as I progress through the levels of college the classes are getting harder and more time consuming.
