Carlei's Romeo And Juliet

Being the twenty first century, many stories from our past still live on such as Romeo and Juliet. Although, in this case, the story of Romeo and Juliet being modernized in 1996 by Carlo Carlei was not a good choice and here is why. History has a lot of value and story and when history gets to be changed and molded into what another director, author and artist believe should change is completely foul. Such as dancing is known to be art, but again a different form of art. In the film of Romeo and Juliet that was directed by Carlo Carlei in 1996 had my thoughts completely busy throughout the whole movie thinking about how the characters were dressed, how I never read this part when Shakespeare wrote his version of Romeo and Juliet, that I also could not wrap around how the most important tragic part of the ending was different than the original version and how these character’s appearance was so new yet the way they spoke was very outdated. It just did not fit well with me. And that is why directors and actors if chosen to use an old script to then go by that script or write a new one that they themselves can create and change all that they would
