The Caring Roles of Nursing
In order to look at evidence-base practice and how it can benefit healthcare, an understanding must be made. What is evidence-based practice? Evidence-base practice is basically research conducted through quality improvement results, expert opinion and other data/polls conducted to show best methods of improvement in how care is rendered. It essentially is used to close the gap between research conducted and how it is implemented in a healthcare setting to provide the best outcome. In order for care to be considered successful, a patient should be able to leave a facility or care clinic in a better state than coming with nature’s defenses working in an optimum state, thus leading to optimum care. Evidence-based practice, research, and theory knowledge are just some of the ways healthcare has taken an effort to achieve expected outcomes.
As a manager of care, nurses have a duty to advocate and coordinate care for patients acting as a first line for nursing staff. Managers usually oversee nursing staff, working in recruitment as well as retention, collaborate with physician to provide patient care, and help patient and families with their needs. Managers of care are also care providers and delegators helping when and wherever needed.
The provider of care is essentially the primary care staff. The role of the care provider includes safely and effectively implementing care for the patient. One must provide competently sound judgment in the healthcare setting with all socio-cultural diversities. The healthcare provider uses critical thinking, collaboration, clinical competence, accountability, communication, and caring to provide holistic care for the person that they are watching over. Pursing a Baccalaureate and later a Masters is the way that I choose to make life a little better for everyone that may come in contact with me along the way.
Conclusion
Evidence-based practice, research, caring, and the essential roles of nursing impact lives in a way far more than may be realized. For care to be optimum, caring is necessary. The roles we choose to take in the healthcare line all play equally important parts for expected overall health and the growth, development, and implementation of best practices in the healthcare field. As the years go by and healthcare changes, the overriding goal is to ensure quality improvement efforts are based as much on evidence as the best practices they seek to
