Caring For Patients With Dementi Case Study

The magnitude of the influence that caring for patients with dementia had in shaping my career decisions is immense; although it was unknown to me for quite some time. A distinct correlation was made early in my employment as a Clinical Nursing Assistant at House of Hope Dementia Care Center, While holding the hand of a patient, as they walk through the stages of life, losing the ability to think, remember, or reason, as well as behavioral abilities, to such an extent that it interferes with a person’s daily life and activities and making basic decision of life. I realize my concept of life, my tone and delivery of my words as to which I used when approaching people in life changed. Amidst all of the stages medical treatment and professional medical team, I became completely aware and overwhelmed with a sense of complete wholeness of my true calling and sense of responsibility that I had never felt before, nursing career with give me the opportunity to help patient with dementia have the quality life they deserve. …show more content…
