Becoming Comfortable in New Surroundings
Kittens often become confused and stressed about being separated from their mother and siblings, so they may become fearful and attempt to hide. It is important for all family members to go slow and gentle with the new kitty. Make sure the kitten has a soft bed that is away from household traffic until they feel safe. Allow the kitten to explore their new surroundings room-by-room and make sure you kitten-proof your home, just like you would with a baby. For example, discourage clawing on furniture by directing your kitten to a scratching post. Encourage litter pan use by placing the kitten inside the box after playtime, nap time or mealtime-kittens

Morgan’s narrative in her piece approaches death, something that traditional taxidermy avoids. This is so that the death of the taxidermied animal is not in the forefront of the viewer’s mind. Instead, traditional taxidermists, such as Akeley and Potter, approach life through lively content and visuals. Potter approaches human qualities of life through anthropomorphic kittens lined up for a wedding, an event that humans consider the “beginning of a new life.” His diorama “The Kitten Wedding,” is an anthropomorphic scene of a kitten wedding; a bride and groom stand toward one end of the rectangular diorama as a pastor stands in front of them watching the groom place a gold band around the bride’s finger (paw).…

Inspired by events of the 1964 attack and murder of Kitty Genovese, just four years later, John Darley and Bibb Latané sought to try and understand what had contributed to the murder. Or, to be more specific, what contributed to the reasons why none of the people in the surrounding buildings tried to intervene or even offer help in response to the woman’s cries for help. While Darley and Latané suggest that the diffusion of both blame and responsibility was spread amongst the observers that none felt compelled to help, having been influenced by the perception that perhaps an unseen someone already had gotten help. To that end, they created an experiment that would create a similar scenario in order to see if by having more bystanders at the…

Kittens from the same litter can look different for a multitude of reasons. The reason each kitten looks different is contained in the genes of each kitten. The genes are located inside the kitten’s 38 chromosomes. Half of the kitten’s chromosomes are inherited from his or her mother, while the other 19 are inherited from his or her father. DNA is tightly coiled inside of each chromosome, and the chromosomes contain genes which are comprised of proteins and nucleic acids, specifically Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C ), and sugar-phosphate.…

There are three stages in the early development of the kitten that the new owner must be cognizant of to ensure that your little bundle of fur can develop healthy and eventually grow into a confident and energetic cat. The three stages are protection from diseases, the birth weight, and weight management. Immediately after birth kittens are very susceptible to developing diseases due to their weak immune system. Kittens are often times absent of the antibodies because they do not get them directly from the mother while in the womb. Rather the antibodies are transferred to the kitten through their mother's first milk.…

However, the student didn't answer it right, which was beyond my expectation. To grade 6 students, the lead-in sentence seemed to be too complicated with alternative question for them to grasp though they were simple. They weren't able to respond correctly both in content and grammar. Appropriacy in language grading plays a vital role in a language teacher. Therefore, instead of giving a confusing lead-in instruction, I could have simply elicited a question, " Did Kitty live near school? ", which would be easy for them to answer without feeling nervous after answering it wrong.…

Kittens are cute, fuzzy, and extremely needy creatures. For the first few weeks of life, they require constant care and attention from their mothers. Without it, they would surely die within a very short period of time. They are helpless, as they are born blind and deaf, and can only interact with the world with their senses of touch, smell, and taste. So what if you found an abandoned litter, or perhaps you are looking to volunteer to foster motherless kittens at your local shelter?…
