Carick Felix Character Analysis

Carrick Felix has a job he never thought he would have. He is a professional basketball player. He plays for the Washington Wizards (District of Columbia). He overcame many hard times to get to where he is. For this reason, he shares his story with others.
Two years ago Felix hurt his knee very badly. The injury forced him to start over. Now, Felix can once again call himself a professional basketball player.
On Sunday, the Washington Wizards picked him for their team.
Scott Brooks is the coach of the Wizards. He is proud of Felix. "He's earned this spot," Brooks said. "He wasn't given it."
The 27-year-old Felix is very hard working. He even enjoys practicing boring parts of the game like free throws. It wasn't always this way, though, Felix once didn't like

Felix has something called ADHD. It stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. That means he has a hard time paying attention. He attended special learning classes. The classes helped him focus better.
Felix said he was "bullied" at school. Teachers tried to steer him away from college.
"What they said he couldn't do, he did," Beverly said. "With Carrick, we wouldn't let him fail no matter what."
Before his second year of high school, Felix grew. His love for basketball also grew. He was so good he went on to play in college.
In his fourth college season, his life changed. Felix was going to be a father to a little girl.
Being a dad was hard. Felix had no money and was living out of his car.
Depression Sets In

The hard times affected how he played. One night after a game, his assistant coach Dedrique Taylor talked to Felix in the parking lot. Felix finally spoke about what he was feeling.
"He thought things were over," Taylor said. "It was a bump in the road but it didn't need to define his future."
Felix did well in his final year at Arizona State. He won two awards for basketball and
