Strategies that Advocate for Students and Caregivers Our school attempts to meet the needs of every child and their caregivers. Our school system makes sure that all the students in the system are taken care of in regards to food and health care needs. Our school system feeds every student a free breakfast every day. Students are also eligible to receive a free dinner if they attend an after school program. This is providing two main objectives. The first being that every child is receiving at least one meal a day, but the attendance rate has improved during this time and it is giving kids a reason to stay after school and not run the streets or get into trouble. With the big push of technology into the classroom, and the push to allow cell phones into the classroom. Educators are beginning to use the power of the internet through the cellular devices. The big push is called BYOD or bring your own device. Educators are allowing their students to use their cellular device during specific times of the class period. The students are able to use their devices to research and gather information on a topic, take test/quizzes or perform other activities designated by the teacher. Students will be able to create presentations using programs like Prezi or Coogle. They could also review by playing games on …show more content…
The school can expand the initiative by giving each student access to an IPad throughout the day. This way students that might not have access to a cellular device would have access to a device that they could use. Allowing the students to pick up their device at the beginning of the day and returning it at the end of the day would allow all the students to access the internet. The school could also communicate with every student using the IPads, sending out messages to students on their IPad. The school would also be able to place the school handbook on the tablet and use the tablets to check out for hall passes. There are a ton of ways that the tablets can help further education. This process can be improved by allowing the students to take home their device. Trusting the students to take home their device for use outside of school. Students would have access to the internet at home or just away from school. This would allow students to continue to research topics outside of school by using the internet, continuing the educational
