We are currently, reviewing and revising standard operating procedures that factor in changes that have occurred since I began the program. We have since trained an Internal Review Panel of members who review these appeals. With feedback from program staff and the office of Patient Advocate, we have implemented a new process which allows the Caregiver Support Program staff to receive appeals directly, create a statement of issue more quickly and forward it along with a packet of information for the Internal Review Board to evaluated. All of which provides a standard and objective review for the Caregivers and Veterans. I have assisted with revising associated documents including Standard Operating Procedures, letters, PowerPoint and Memoranda.
