Career Technical Education High school drop-out. The title that no child grows up wanting, a title all parents fear for their children. As stated on the National Center for Education Statistics website, school drop-out rates in the US have decreased greatly in recent years. Will high school drop-out rates ever cease to exist though? Career technical education programs create better applicants for jobs by increasing job specific training, showing students exactly the kind of work involved, and by providing hands on learning to help keep young adults interested in their education. Vocational schooling allows them to make mistakes without falling hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for choosing another major or job path half way through their education. It allows students to test professions before they enter them and ultimately hate their job for the rest of their lives. Career technical education programs in high school are free and let students sample certain jobs without costing anything at all to switch to another program. They are also given room for growth.
