Since there are many different types of accountants, not every accountant does every single one of those tasks. The Encyclopedia states, “Accountants may specialize in areas such as auditing, tax work, cost accounting, budgeting and control, or systems and procedures” (“Accountants and Auditors” 1). The duties of accountants differ depending on which branch option is chosen. Because there are many different responsibilities for an accountant, there are different branches, which include “public, private, and government accounting” (“Accountants and Auditors” 1). Depending on which percent each accountant falls in, determines their pay, but the longer I work as an accountant, the more I will earn. The need for accountants is necessary in almost every occupation. The Occupational Outlook Handbook states, “Employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 10 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations” (Bureau).
