I have never forgotten the lessons they taught me, both good and hard ones! The kidnapping was and has been an emotional struggle for many years. Through therapy I have been able to continue to live life to the fullest extent, but will never forget the fear and torment I went through. This significant event in my life has made me realize with my own daughters that open communication and educating them about all aspects of life will hopefully prevent anything like this happening to them. Life is what we make of it. My grandmother always told me that something good can come out of bad things if you’re looking for them. All the trials and hardships and events that happen in our life should be learning experiences. I have learned that faith and prayer are essential in my life. The many great influences in my life have enabled me to become a confident, determined person and to set goals. I am not afraid to work hard to attain them. I do not regret any of the events that have happened, but wish I had been more determined to finish my education earlier in life. The deaths of both my grandmother’s within a month of each other just reminded me how short life is and how we should never take anything for granted. I try to live life to the fullest each day, have an open mind and enjoy the simple everyday things. I can only hope that the live I lead will
