Career Inventory and Work Values Upon completion of both the career inventory and work values assessments, I was left with the values that led me to obtaining my Bachelors of Science in Psychology. My career inventory is coaching, encouraging, listening, motivating, and public speaking. My work values include, security, impact, influencing people, monetary compensation along with the ability to utilize both my education and experience. Each of these values are psychologically accurate with both my experience and my goals. In order to understand my future path, it was important for me to assess my psychological evolution that has brought me to who and where I am today.
Frustration, Failure, and a Future I was the eldest daughter to substance addicted parents, with two younger sisters my childhood was cut short by undue responsibilities and stress, as a classic case insecure – avoidant attachment theory, I became relentlessly independent (Behrens, Hesse, & Main, 2007). I have attention deficit disorder (ADD), however there was no such diagnosis when I was in school (Fuller-Thomson, Mehta, & Valeo, 2014). My work values include the ability to use my experience and education, with a feeling of accomplishment, helping others address their attitudes and opinions of others and themselves. I am seeking a position that will compensate me for both my experience and education, with steady employment and income. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, is evident within my self-analysis, my need for security and monetary compensation falls within the safety and needs theory, just as with all new ventures we seek comfort and security (Lester, D.
