Career Interview Essay

For my Career Interview Essay, I interview a family friend Cody Walton. Cody is an x-ray technician at the Salmon Steel Memorial Hospital. Cody has been an x-ray technician for 8 ½ years. When he was first interested in becoming an x-ray technician they were really high in demand. He says that to this career choice is still in demand and it isn’t going anywhere. He thinks that in the future this career will stay in high demand because it isn’t very many people are familiar with in and because they would rather do something other than give people MRI’s, CT’s, and x-rays. Cody’s favorite thing about his career is that he is able to help people who need help. His least favorite thing about his career is having to wake up in the middle of the night because he is on call and having to help patients that don’t want to be helped. His advice for someone coming into this career is to look at Office of Information Technology (OIT). He says this school is an amazing program and you come out educated and prepared for the real world.

You should go to college anywhere from between 1 and 4years. An x-ray technician has the median salary of $55,200. Although they can have a salary anywhere from 37,610 to 80,080 it all depends on the company you are working for and the level of education they have. Besides the money an x-ray technician has many benefits such as: it pays for overtime hours, there is always a demand for people in this career, upward mobility, and limited education. Although this career is only predicted to grow 21% by 2022 there will still be a high demand for x-ray
