Career Interest and Assessment
The result from the career cluster survey says that I am social and enterprising. I disagree with me being social because I don’t like teaching people. I agree with me being enterprising because I like to figure out problems mentally rather than to persuade or lead people. My career cruising results are Visual and Auditory learning, I agree with both of these results because I have trouble with math so if the teacher is using pictures to explain a certain problem and really breaking it down so that I can understand it that really helps me when it comes down to taking a test or a quiz to remember how they explained it. I think my results matched up with neonatal nursing because when you’re being taught and guided on how to care for and support the babies you're gonna be working with and how to handle different babies in different situations, you really have to listen up pay attention and take notes if needed so that you can better understand exactly what to do when you're caring for the child(ren).

Were there any areas of concern or anxiety about having your career interests evaluated? I was I little bit intrigued about the kind of choices and questions the test offered, but I was not nervous because I knew it was something for me to explore, even to enjoy, not to determine if I was smart or not. I am very skeptical about this sort of test, so I didn’t want to alter my responses due to my bias. I was determined to choose as honest as possible.…

However, as time went on and I started to complete the assignments, it became clear how useful many of them were, particularly the resume and the career exploration paper. Both of these assignments were beneficial in their own way, despite the time and effort that went in to completing them according to the instructions. The resume and subsequent critiques from multiple sources yielded a professional document that is flawless and ready to be disseminated to potential employers after a minor customization to it based upon the job description and requirements.
