Anesthetist Career Essay

It has been my longtime dream to get into the medical field. I have planned for this career since I was a little girl. My mother started talking to me about college when I was in elementary school. I can remember sitting in the back seat as she drove, and I listened to her talk about me going to college. College was always on my mind. As I grew older we went from discussing going to college to what I wanted my career to be. I’ve laid out the steps that will get me to my educational and career goal dreams.
In junior high my dad was in a serious motorcycle accident and he almost died. He was care flight lifted to the hospital where he underwent many hours of surgery. They were all eager to give me advice, and I was ready to listen. During my clinical rotation time I became even surer that I belonged in the medical field, and I decided I wanted to advance my goals and become a nurse anesthetist. I would also like to do my full year full time position in the ER ICU after I become certified. My plan is to finish my master’s degree early, work in the ER ICU for a full year, and apply to graduate school. To obtain this goal I plan on taking at least two classes during the summer months of my freshman and sophomore year. During my junior and senior year I will attend Texas Tech all year round. I realize being accepted to graduate school is very competitive, and I will take the steps necessary to give myself an advantage. I hope to be accepted as a volunteer at a hospital during the summer months, and I hope this will give me one of those advantages during the acceptance process for graduate school. I know I need to put more steps in place to achieve this goal so I plan on speaking to my professors for
