Summarize My Career Goals

If I could summarize my career and day to day goals they would be to create, inspire, and achieve. In whatever circumstance that may be. As I reflect on the time that I have already spent at Western Kentucky University, my professors and peers have helped me to do exactly that. From both the encouragement and the discipline I have learned as a student, I have grown as a person and a dancer. In addition, the rehearsal process has encouraged me to obtain professional attitudes and habits. I also expect this degree to increase my knowledge on choreography and pedagogy. While I have had limited experience with teaching dance and choreographing, I have not been taught these trades in a serious and professional manner. Therefore, I look forward to learning and practicing the trades that the dance program has to offer. It is probably one of the most exciting aspects of my education to this point. The work that has been put into the program from the staff and faculty is …show more content…

I thought that it would be a great way to be involved while being an intriguing learning experience. I chose this to use as my project because I am very passionate about the arts, was able to learn while doing something I love, and was an extensive process. It was incredibly rewarding to plan and perform two facilitations throughout the semester. Through these facilitations, my partners and I had the opportunity to practice our public speaking, explore the impacts of reflection and collaboration, and immediately get feedback on what we did well and could improve on. In professional settings, presentations and facilitations are very common ways to share progress and, thanks to my practice in facilitations, I am prepared to succeed. The other important topic is arts integration.…
