Alpha Kappa Psi Career Reflection

Going into the Alpha Kappa Psi Career Day, I was not seeking an internship. This was my first Alpha Kappa Psi Career Day, and I was going to gain information for what I should do for next year to receive an internship, to have more confidence at next year’s Career Day, and for my BIS 101WI class. Overview The Alpha Kappa Psi Career Day was something that I had never been to before. My overall experience was positive, but it was also a little stressful and overwhelming. Walking into the building, the workers were very inviting and were helpful to point me into the direction I needed to go. As I entered the main room with all the companies, I became quickly overwhelmed. The first thing I did entering the main room was signing in, and grabbing a map that showed what table different companies were at. It took a lot of self-motivation for me to approach someone to talk to them, but once I introduced myself as a sophomore, I could tell that they immediately began to lose interest in me. I asked them my first question if the offered half summer internships and they replied that they do not normally offer that.
