to be safe from illegal drugs that get cross from the border and that people are respecting the rules about crossing that we the people who cross the border must have our passports or an id to know we are U.S. citizens. What I learned about being a Border Patrol is that you must be younger than 37 to be accepted. I must be bilingual. I have to work away from home for extended periods of 35 days or more. Almost the whole time I work i would be alone. Must have a 4 year college or university. I learned that the person's hearing must be in frequency range of 500-2000 Hz, and your vision must be 20/20 without glasses or contacts. I don't have the perfect vision, i'm blind as a bat but it only affects the position i'm in because I can't go higher ranges and it would probably be harder for me to get in the Border Patrol . Although Border patrol must work long irregular hours , including weekends and holidays .
